A dream come true

In 2026, a 16-year-old violinist turned a dream into reality: bringing a chamber music festival of international excellence to Château-d'Œx. Juan José Peña Aguirre, a student at the Haute école de Musique de Lausanne, created the Swiss-Alps Festival with a deep conviction: great music must resonate everywhere, even — and especially — in Alpine villages.

Why it matters

For young musicians, performing on stage is not a luxury — it is a necessity. It is in these precious moments before an audience that the artist is forged, that confidence is affirmed, that music takes on its full meaning. Each concert is a crucial milestone in their journey toward excellence.

For Château-d'Œx, this festival is much more than a series of concerts. It is a celebration of our cultural heritage, an occasion for gathering, a bridge between generations. It is living proof that a small Alpine village can be the stage for musical moments of rare intensity.
