Sophia Marchadier

Clarinet

Sophia Marchadier began playing the clarinet at the age of 7 in a music school near Orléans. After joining the conservatory, she obtained her Diploma of Musical Studies in June 2020 in both clarinet and chamber music.

Subsequently, she left to study in Rueil-Malmaison (France) alongside Claire Vergnory. While studying, motivated by her passion for the orchestra, Sophia plays alongside several orchestras such as the Harmony Orchestra of the Centre Region or the National Orchestra of Ile-de-France where she was an academician for 2 years.

In 2022, she won the 1st prize in the "Excellence" category of the Caluire and Clarinettes Competition. Then, in 2023 she entered the Bachelor's program at the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne in Florent Héau's class, where she is still studying today.

Throughout her journey, she has had the opportunity to perfect her skills with great artists such as Franck Amet, Alessandro Carbonare, Victor Fernandes, Martin Fröst, Vincent Voq, and Renaud Capuçon.

In 2025, she joined an opera orchestra in partnership with the Opéra de Lausanne and the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, where she was able to play in the finest halls (Konzerthaus Berlin, Concertgebouw, Philharmonie de Paris…).
